Queridos alumnos/as de 2Bachillerato:

The KEY QUESTION IS...¿Por dónde empezamos?

HOW STRONG IS YOUR VOCABULARY?

A rich vocabulary eases speaking, learning, writing and reading. Learning new English words or improving your English vocabulary is one of the most important stepping stones to getting success in life.  On your email account, you're getting today material to practice your vocabulary!

The reading practice for this week has to do with "learning" and "business", two different situations in which you will practice your vocabulary, grammar and apart from that, you will find a WRITING COMPOSITION AT THE END!

A) MY LEARNING TECHNIQUES
B) WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE A SCIENTISTS? WHY? WHY NOT?

I am curious to know what the weather will be like in Vancouver or Sidney, we´ll compare this weather with Guadix!

INSTRUCTIONS:
1) Search information about a city your group want to know more about
2) Write the weather forecast for a week (including all relevant information)
3) Draw a map of the city
4) Prepare your speech for your classmates and questions

This week, our 2nd Bachillerato Students have practiced a VERY RELEVANT TOPIC with this mock exam: ELDERLY SPANISH COULD SLEEP IN PARK AFTER BEING EVICTED

We read aloud the text in class analysing the different words students may find difficult to translate but thanks to context, they easily knew the meaning of the words:
-WHEREABOUTS/ EVICTED/ MORTGAGE/

WRITING TASK:  IN OUR OPINION, WHAT ARE THE MOST SERIOUS SOCIAL PROBLEMS TODAY?

READY TO START YOUR WRITING?

jueves, 30 de enero de 2020

In unit 4, we are focusing on vocabulary related to Description to talk about people both physically and their personality. Our students will do their best writing a description with great vocabulary.

Today, we practiced new words to describe hair, face, skin, as well as general appearance. Do you know some scruffy person in your family? Or maybe....all your relatives are tidy-looking?

 REMEMBER THE SUFFIX -ISH!!!!
-ish is added to adjectives to form adjectives which indicate that someone or something has a quality to a small extent. For example, something that is largish is fairly large.
She is tallish, brown-haired, and clear-skinned.
With her was a youngish man in a dinner jacket.
...a tank of greenish water.

WRITE A DESCRIPTION OF A FRIEND/RELATIVE USING SUITABLE VOCABULARY, TRY TO BE ORIGINAL AND FOLLOW A CLEAR STRUCTURE

The end of UNIT 4 is near.... Are you ready to talk and write about "an usual experience"?
What was your most unusual experience? What did you do? What really happened? Who was/were with you? How did you feel?

Remember to use the Past Simple Tense + Appropiate Connectors to explain our your experience.

Apart from all these connectors, we wrote on the blackboard these ones:
- Suddenly
- Eventually...
-Luckily...

Now, it's your turn to show how pretty you are, students! Are you ready? I´m looking forward to reading all your amazing unusual experiences

CLASS PRESENTATION FOR 2BACHILLERATO

We already know all students should have a very good English level on grammar but...
CAN YOU IMAGINE STUDENTS EXPLAINING GRAMMAR TO OTHER CLASSMATES?

Our 2nd Bachillerato students chose a tense to focus on and prepare 10mins class

- PASSIVE VOICE
- WISH /IF ONLY + CONDITIONALS
-REPORTED SPEECH
- RELATIVE CLAUSES...

Do you already distinguish the differences between I WISH/IF ONLY?

AND WHAT ABOUT... RELATIVE CLAUSES? Do you use properly
NON-DEFINING AND DEFINING RELATIVE CLAUSES? PRONOUNS TO USE WITH BOTH?

WELL DONE, GIRLS! The rest of the class worked hard too and they keep learning and during this 2nd term we're paying serious attention to writing and speaking skills!

Let's start a new unit practicing vocabulary about the house! What part of the house do you like the most? Can you mention all the objects of the kitchen? Our students CAN DO IT REALLY WELL!
I particularly love the kitchen as we spend lots of time in there but also I love my living-room,whenwe open windows on both sides we get a wonderful breeze. The living-room is cozy and warm, with a fireplace as the focal point.

DO YOU WANT TO PRACTICE VOCABULARY WITH US?

Guess what?!! Which part of the house is for used for cooking lots of recipes? EASY, isn't it?

Our students from 1ESO practiced and learnt lots of words related to kitchen! Remember the goal is not learning by heart but practicing because PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT
